In our COP28 series, we feature Dr. Yao Changsheng, CEO of HydoTech, a company dedicated to advancing green hydrogen technology. Dr. Yao discusses HydoTech's commitment to carbon neutrality, the promise of green hydrogen, their best practices, stakeholder engagement, and their collaboration with industry leaders and educational institutions.
1. What climate technology do you find promising to address climate change?
We see the enormous potential of Green Hydrogen. It is an ideal renewable energy source, an excellent carrier for long-term inter-regional energy storage and transport, and a way to increase the efficiency of renewables worldwide through "Green Power + Green Hydrogen". We developed advanced green hydrogen production technology to accelerate progress.
2. How is your organization approaching climate change?
Born from a vision of carbon neutrality, HydoTech is an innovative green hydrogen technology company passionately delivering "safe, efficient, and intelligent" green hydrogen production solutions worldwide.
3. What’s your top best practice to solve the climate crisis?
The potential for green hydrogen is promising, but the road ahead is long. The industry faces challenges, from cost and efficiency to technical ones such as the adaptability to renewables. We are involved in green hydrogen projects with SinoPec/Shell and other energy industry leaders. Our product has performed excellently in application scenarios, and we have obtained some exciting real-world data. We are proud of our contribution to the validation of industrial pathways and technological innovations.
4. How is your organization engaging local stakeholders in your climate actions?
We are committed to seeking ESG consensus. Besides Green Hydrogen technology innovations, we also collaborate with universities and participate in local eco-friendly programs. We collaborated with Hongshan Forrest Zoo to popularize the zero-carbon concept, launching a digital platform.
