The Middle East and North Africa regions boast abundant renewable energy resources, particularly sunlight and wind, offering significant potential for solar and wind power projects. However, the green energy potential in MENA remains largely untapped: between 2012 and 2019, electricity generation from renewables increased from 21,000 GWH to 50,000 GWH but then dropped to 39,000 GWH in 2021. This session will discuss scaling capital mobilization and innovation to promote the green energy sector in MENA, and it will feature discussions with leading experts from the region and the globe.
